Conveyor belts carry goods from one place to another. They are used in various industries including mining, raw material and wood processing, agriculture, power and cement plants, and metal production. They are also used inside factories and warehouses for transporting goods.
Conveyor belt systems basically consist of two or more pulleys to rotate the belt in continuous cycles. The belt is made of one or more layers of materials, e.g. an inside layer of woven textile fabric or of steel to provide linear strength and shape and an outside cover of different rubber or plastic compounds.
Depending on the use of the belt the material requirements can be very specific, e.g. abrasion resistance (coal mines, cement works,…), flame resistance (underground mining), heat resistance (steel works, cement works), oil/chemical resistance (glass works, fertilizer production) or belts in accordance with FDA requirements.
We develop and manufacture woven fabrics to reinforce rubber-based conveyor belts. Our tailor-made solutions for volume and value markets are based on close cooperation with conveyor belt producers, end users and suppliers. Our comprehensive fabric range covers the full spectrum from open to very tight woven fabrics and optimized fabric finishes to meet the specific requirements during conveyor belt manufacturing and end-use.
Besides constructions based on polyester and polyamide 6.6, we have broad experience with special materials including aramid, basalt and glass fiber. One example for value-added solutions are aramid-reinforced belts as an alternative to steel-reinforcement.
